My Story

Hey there, Book Bestie!

Come on in, get comfy, and let’s chat for a minute.

I was born in the ‘80s, which probably explains why I still believe in the power of a great love song and a good pair of hoop earrings. I started singing before I could even spell all the words, and by my teens, I was chasing dreams as a singer-songwriter. While other kids were sneaking into local bars, I was performing in them on weekends during high school. My chart-topping success was limited, LOL. I had a development deal that did not pan out, but I opened for a few well-known country artists and even heard my songs on the radio overseas, which was wild.

Writing has always been in my blood. My great-grandmother was a poet who self-published her own book long before it was cool. She raised five boys, ran a house full of love and laughter, and still found time to write. I have a copy of her book, and it is one of my most treasured possessions. My great-grandmother’s words remind me that storytelling is not just about what we write, but about the pieces of ourselves we leave behind. When the house is quiet and the day’s duties are done, I feel connected to her, writing quietly at night just as she once did.

I started writing songs as a teen, and later, as a mother, I traded piano keys for a computer keyboard. My son was not always a fan of my loud singing, so I turned to fiction instead. Writing quietly stole my heart and has never let go.

Some time ago, my best friend and fellow romance-reading partner in crime suggested a writing exercise. We picked a song, wrote short stories inspired by it, and swapped them back and forth. Somewhere between those stories and songs, I realized that writing romance gives me the same feeling music always had: connected, hopeful, and full of heart.

Now, I write the love stories I love to read, full of emotional depth, tension you can taste, and happily-ever-afters worth swooning over. My debut novel is a vacation romance with a twist, and I cannot wait to share it with you. I hope it lingers with you long after the last page.

I write from my home in Nashville, Tennessee, where inspiration is everywhere. Every corner holds a story waiting to be discovered, a smile that sparks a scene, and a little romance hiding in the everyday.

Thanks for being here, Book Bestie. It means more than you know. 💕

Love Always,
Lily

P.S. My son wants everyone to know that now that he is older, he is officially okay with my singing, or at least he pretends to be. 🎤😄
